“Art World Justin Bieber” aka Instagram Messiah aka Glass Popcorn aka 16 year old Arizona-based *tween sensation* Will Neibergall is a classic example of a *cloud* success story… MoMA PS1 is not a small gig. And maybe GPOP is a bit too *BIG* for cloud digger, but whatevs… this is an important release. Here we see GPop going thru a bit of *artistic puberty*, or at least a transitional state. This ode to the internet culture that *we* are a part of, with namedrops to *tinychat* *dump* *emojis* */b/* */mu/* and even fucking *homestarrrunner* (memories) sees Neibergall being blatantly self-aware, rapping about more serious things like growing up with expectations to “fly kites” and “pick dandy-lions”, but instead gravitating toward the internet. A real satirist won’t keep making fun of the same thing over and over again, as *swag-rap* became *OUT* a minute ago.. so.. why still comment on it? Maybe because artists like Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, even the new Big Boi stuff, you know, all these very *spacey*, *trippy*, *intelligent* and self-aware rappers that are at the forefront rite now, and are gaining the attention… maybe, just maybe, this track is a comment on these guys. Maybe over-intellectualizing his intentions kills it. I D K… but this is an ode to *URL*, from an *IRL* perspective for *URL* people who actually exist *IRL*. The internet is an exciting place to grow up. Keep on *poppin*, Glass.
